Old Man’s Hat Party

Old Man's HatHere’s an idea we had to further engage our friends in the Christmas Change conversation, and we thought you might want to do it, too. Have an Old Man’s Hat party!

This is what the Evite says:

Dear Christmas Change Friends,

It’s that time of year, and we see no reason why we can’t couple Christmas Change with a lot of fun and food. Please join us at the Haines’ house, December 3, from 7 to 9 to celebrate Jesus’ birth. We’ll be having heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and birthday cake.

Here’s the catch: we want you to come in the back door (always here), and on the table will be the old man’s hat. This year, a half penny won’t do. We’re asking each guest to donate $10 + to the Old Man’s Hat, and at the same time, each of you will write your favorite charity on a slip of paper. At the end of the evening (9:00) we’ll pull a charity from the hat, and every penny of your money will go to that charity.

Get out your calendars, and schedule your own! Happy Thanksgiving week!

So much fun and with so many Christmas parties going on what a difference that could make!
